SokanaRose, pronounced SO_KA_NA_ROSE means Some Kind of Rose, i.e, a unique Rose.  In Liberia, Sokana means something unique.  SokanaRose aims to inspire you to take a bold step outside of your comfort zone & embrace your body, JUST AS YOU ARE!   We aspire to reveal the boldness within everyone, but most especially those who stay hidden in the shadows, shy of embracing their beauty simply because their bodies do not conform to the established norm for what is considered beautiful. 

Our mission is to inspire you to Reveal the BOLD in YOU as you journey with us to showcase the beauty and versatility of African fashion.  We want you to wear our fashion with pride, knowing that it was made with the purpose of adorning and inspiring YOU. We are simply here to empower you to truly love yourself from within…so today we affirm to you that everything about you is beautiful!  So Jeh be YOU, meaning Just be YOU!  We are SokanaRose, and so are YOU.

 

THE SOKANAROSE PROMISE

We PROMISE to empower women of all ages to love themselves wholly and do our part to help put an end to body shaming which is plaguing young girls all over the world.

We PROMISE to help fight poverty in Africa through our committment to support local entrepreneurs in Ghana and Liberia and continue to expand those relationships into other parts of Africa as our business grows.

We PROMISE to do our part to reduce textile waste by conserving all leftover fabric scraps for use in creating accessories, art and more.

We PROMISE to continue our support of LinkPen, a nonprofit working to provide children in impoverished communities around the world with access to education and improved learning conditions and diverse penpal friendships.
